Last July 26, Good Shepherd Christian School held its annual Nutrition Month celebration under the theme, “Pagkain ng Gulay Ugaliin, Araw-araw itong Ihain”.
The celebration started with an aerobics exercise program for the students with the GSCS teachers and the DCR dance troupe as their instructors. After the workout, the program proper was officially opened by the school principal, Mrs. Delna C. Moralita, who gave a short but meaningful speech about the importance of good health and proper nutrition. Her speech was followed by special numbers from the students from the Pre-school level up to the High School level.
One of the highlights of the program was the cooking contest, where four groups of students were given 45 minutes each to prepare a healthy and nutritious meal. The first group was composed of Kiko Managuit and Joseph Andal (IV-Matthew), and Jobelle Buquid and Francine Punongbayan (6-Genesis). In the second group were Paolo Orbe and Marc Cal (III-Mark), and Tehillah Pallones and Kim Marcos (6-Exodus). The third group had Thea Medel and Elaine Bunag (IV-Mark), and Zarah Antiojo and Angela Dedel (6-Exodus) while the last group had Shaina Yamzon and Orlando Bilan (IV-Matthew), and Michaella Ignatio and Arlene Legaspi (6-Exodus).
The students also prepared different kinds of food for everyone to taste. The Pre-school and Elementary students prepared healthy local food, while the High School students prepared dishes from different countries.
